Debut: Yaoi-Con 2003
Why Goku?Well I was asked to cosplay Goku by Ayaka at least his normal outfit. But since Yaoi-Con 2003 was coming up and AJ wanted to do a "ghetto" group costume. So what, the hell. We decided on an this artbook version of the group.
We even had a full cast of characters, I was cosplaying Goku, AJ was Gojyo, Cheryll was Sanzo and Moo was Hakkai.
So we had a week to finish four costumes. Yah, my house turned into a Saiyuki sweatshop. We made it just in time, finishing all the final details Friday night. We were gonna debut the costumes Saturday at Yaoi-Con.
Reactions:Hehe, we had a few people recognize us. Actually, the first people to recognize us was Ramen and Rice! Weeee!
It was them, and a few other die hard Saiyuki fans. Obscure cosplay baby! :)
We definitely had some hilarious reactions when we went outside the convention for lunch and finding some good photoshoot backgrounds. At one point we were walking by a homeless man and he changed his plea for spare change to sing "YMCA." LOL!
Yah, I'm sure we had a lot of people thinking we were a boy-band of some sort. It probably doesn't help that we were breaking out random lines from the "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys. LOL. We really should do a masquerade skit sometime and do exactly that! ROTFL!
